    • Description Offering our customers the best Breakfast in Lake Country by far. We have a host of loyal clientele to attest to this, some that have been coming here for over 15 years. Situated between Kelowna and Vernon we are a convenient stop when traveling between the two cities. Our kitchen creates some of the best Omelets around and Our Eggs Benny is legendary. At lunch we offer a Soup & Sandwich Special with a choice of 2 homemade soups daily. Be sure to check out the daily Lunch special. Our selections include but are not limited to Pastas, Meatloaf, Roast Pork Dinner, Stir Frys, Curry dishes, Stroganoff, Liver & Onions, Veal Cutlets, etc. The homemade Nickel Burger takes a while to cook but is worth every minute.We now make our own Chicken Burgers as well. We strive for attention to detail in all respects. Cleanliness is noted throughout the premises and our staff are professional, friendly and efficient. We use only the best quality products and hand pick our produce daily. The Wooden Nickel is noted for our famous Cinnamon Buns and Homemade pies and pastries.     I love the coziness of the Wooden Nickle and the great service all the staff gives. I am new to the area, and the reviews and raves about this little restaurant were told to my by everyone. Sooooo, I went and they did not disappoint. Always a very cheerful and smiling waitress and the cooks always appreciate our good comments on the food and the portions. Everything is homemade and delicious. I often get their frozen dinners that are very reasonably priced, to go and stock up my freezer. Sooooo much healthier than the frozen dinners you get that are massed produced. Great food, great prices and great staff. If you are looking for a good homemade breakfast, lunch or dinner, you have to go to the Wooden Nickle in Winfield, BC.
